When you use other people's words or work in your research papers to support your own ideas, you must provide citations to the sources of your information. Citations give credit to the original author, help others find the sources themselves, and give credibility to your work. The following guides will help you cite your sources correctly. There are several different styles of citation, so make sure you are using the style your instructor requires.
Commonly Used in Nursing, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, and other social sciences
Commonly Used in Academic Writing, English, Literature, Arts, and Humanities
