Most are general or cover a wide range of disciplines; a few are categorized more specifically (e.g., teaching, learning and student success; technology; OER). Some sites may require registering for a free account.

The library offers resources to support you in your professional development activities.
We have a rich collection of books (print and online)--plus we welcome suggestions for books to add to our collection. In addition, we can borrow books (and other library materials) from other libraries if we don't have what you need.
The library offers access to a wide variety of article databases, including the Professional Development Collection. which is designed for professional educators and includes high-quality education journals. The library also offers full-text electronic journals and magazines, as well as a small collection of print magazines. Some examples that are of special interest for professional development are included below (or use the Journal List to see if we have full-text access to other journals/magazines of interest).
Valuable for education students, professionals and policy makers alike. Includes full text from more than 1,800 journals (plus citations and abstracts from 1,000 more), plus 550 books and education-related conference papers. Covers all levels from early childhood to higher education, and also includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education and testing. (EBSCO)
Teacher Reference Center provides indexing and abstracts for 280 of the most popular teacher and administrator journals and magazines to assist professional educators.(EBSCO) An SCRLC database.
ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, provides access to more than 1.3 million resources from scholarly and professional publications in the field of education. (EBSCO)
Through Academic Video Online (AVON), the library provides access to streaming videos in many subjects and from many producers.
Educational streaming video titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more.

BIZ
TC3 employees pay only 15% of the course fee plus cost of the applicable textbook (often low cost) for in-classroom workshops through BIZ (the discount does not apply to online or health programs due to the fee structure). Catalogs are available outside the BIZ office; employees can search for offerings on the website, email biz@tompkinscortland.edu, or call Carrie Whitmore (x6586) for more information.
College Teaching Center (CTC)
The College Teaching Center is another campus resource focused on enhancing teaching and learning. The Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Baker Commons. The space includes a comfortable place to work, a microwave and tea kettle, relevant professional publications, computers, and printers. The CTC sponsors events, roundtables, workshops, and other professional development opportunities including mentorship programs.
