    About this Guide

    Welcome to the TC3 Library!

This guide is intended to help students in Mrs. Myers' ENGL 102 class find resources for their assignment on poetic movements.  It offers links and search tips and pointers but is not intended to be comprehensive.

If you have any questions about conducting your research or about services offered by the Library, please contact a librarian.  We're happy to help you.

    Paper Assignment

     Poetry Paper – Making Connections

The purpose of this paper is for you to investigate a poetic movement and two or three of its poets or to find obvious similarities among three (3) poets from different time periods.  I would caution you to not go higher than that number as it would be difficult to develop connections adequately in a short paper.  Try to develop some connections that we have discussed in class and choose poets that you enjoy.  You should incorporate 4-6 varied and credible sources in your paper, and the paper should contain specific line references.  Your paper must include the proper MLA heading and documentation.  In addition, you must create a title.  If you have any questions, please come in and see me.

Length – 5-7 of text, minimum

Form – MLA, in text citations, Works Cited page

Sources – 4-6, varied (at least two print sources)

Due Date – Wednesday, May 4 at the beginning of class

Any paper submitted later than the beginning of class Tuesday will be penalized one (1) letter grade.  No paper will be accepted after Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the beginning of class.
